On Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 18:30 - 21:00, the guest of the MSc "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT and Advanced Digital Technologies", of the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus, is Mr. Yiannis Liapis, IT Solution Sales Manager, Huawei Technologies SA – Greece/Cyprus. Topic: "Digital Transformation with Advanced Technologies – The Smart Cities of the Future."

The lecture will be held for PMS students online, and in the context of the Course "Information Governance and Compliance / Entrepreneurship - Management of Smart Cities" of the directions "Smart Cities and Advanced Digital Technologies" and "Internet of Things (IoT) and Advanced Digital Technologies" and the Course "Advanced Media and Applications in Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Culture" of the "Digital Culture" major.

"Digital Transformation with Advanced Technologies" will refer to Digital transformation and whatever involves using advanced technologies for businesses to become more efficient or effective. How Huawei sees the use of technology not only replicate existing one with new, but the way to transform the "way of doing" into a service that is significantly better. Digital transformation involves many different technologies but the hottest topics right now are: Cloud, IoT, Big Data, and AI. A Digital Transformation project involves rethinking of business models and processes, and not enhancing traditional methods. Digitization is not new technology systems and services. Digital transformation is to create something new: improve customer experience (new Cloud services), provide insights from data to create new products.

Mr. Yannis Liapis is Senior Sales Manager with 20+ years of IT experience and demonstrated expertise in the Telecommunications industry.

Started with SW engineering, HW sales and Proposal management, to specialized the last 5 years on Cross-Domain Sales and Solution Designs.

Achievements and breakthrough in IT and Cloud technologies projects, plus Private & Hybrid Cloud in Telecommunications sector.
