Dimitrios D. Vergados is a Professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of Piraeus, Director of the M.Sc. Programm "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT and Advanced Digital Technologies", Director of the "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, Internet of Things (IoT) and Advanced Digital Technologies and Services Lab", Chairman of the General Assembly of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK), UNESCO Chair Holder: "Creative Cities in Motion: Urban Sustainable Mobility and Utilization of Cultural Resources”.
His research interests are in the area of Computer Networks and Communications, Telecommunication Systems, Wireless and Mobile Communications, Internet of Things (IoT) and Advanced Digital Technologies, Smart Technologies, Cloud Computing, Digital Image Processing and Analysis, Sustainable Ecosystems and Smart Cities, Management of Digital Cultural Content, Intellectual Property,Personal Data Protection, and Regulatory Issues.
He has several publications in journals, books and conference proceedings.
He has served as a committee member and evaluator in national and international organizations and agencies. He has also served as a chair, technical program committee member (TPC) and reviewer in several international conferences and co-editor, member of the editorial board, and reviewer in several international journals.
Charalampos Konstantopoulos received his diploma in Computer Engineering from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics at the University of Patras in 1993, and he earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same department in 2000. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics at the University of Piraeus, specializing in "Algorithms and Complexity."
His research interests include parallel and distributed algorithms, mobile computing, algorithmic issues in sensor networks, as well as algorithmic techniques for optimization problems. He is also an Experienced Collaborating Researcher at the Institute of Computer Technology and Publications "Diophantus." He has published more than 90 articles in reputable international scientific journals and conference proceedings, with publishers such as IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, and ACM. He has also contributed seven chapters in books published by well-known publishers. He has served as a program committee member for several recognized international conferences, as a member of the editorial board for two renowned international journals, as a reviewer for articles in well-known international journals, and as an invited reviewer for four journal issues. Additionally, he is the editor of a collective volume published by Springer.
Furthermore, he has participated as a researcher in numerous research and development projects funded by the European Commission and the Greek government.
