On Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 18:00 to 21:00, Dimitris Tsingos, CEO of Starttech Ventures, will be the invited speaker at the MSc program "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT, and Advanced Digital Technologies" of the Department of Informatics at the University of Piraeus.

Mr. Tsingos' lecture will be held for the students of the MSc program as part of the course "Advanced Media and Applications in Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Culture" in the Digital Culture specialization.

Lecture Topic: Start-up, Scale-up, Level up: A Brief Introduction to New Venture Entrepreneurship.

During the lecture, Mr. Tsingos will also discuss his philanthropic activities through the establishment of a foundation for technology, research, and collaboration, as well as the recently published program titled "ASPRO" (meaning "white" in Greek). This program is an interesting cinematic and publishing project that highlights the history of Aspropyrgos, narrating the journey of the first post-war dairy industry in the area—a start-up from 1947.

Brief Biography:

Dimitris Tsingos is an entrepreneur in the information technology market and an early-stage investor in start-up businesses. He was born in Aspropyrgos, Attica, where he completed his secondary education. He studied Computer Science at the University of Crete and later pursued postgraduate studies in Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business, earning an MBA International degree. He co-founded Virtual Trip at the Science and Technology Park of Crete, one of the country's first student businesses. Today, he is active as the founder and CEO of Starttech Ventures, a private venture builder specializing in B2B SaaS software businesses for the North American market. He served as President of the European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs, the Hellenic Informatics Society, and was a board member of the European Business Angel Network. He also founded and served as President of the Hellenic Startups Association. Currently, he is a co-founder and President of the Hellenic Business Angel Network. Moreover, he is an alumnus of the European Young Leaders 40 under 40 and IVLP programs, a member of the drafting team of the Rome Manifesto, a Marshall Memorial Fellow, and a Fellow of the Global Leadership Program at the Institut des Hautes Études pour l'Innovation et l'Entrepreneuriat of PSL University in Paris.

The lecture is organized as part of the MSc program in Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT & Advanced Technologies and the UNESCO Chair: "Creative Cities in Motion: Urban Sustainable Mobility and Utilization of Cultural Resources" awarded to the Laboratory of "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, Internet of Things (IoT), and Advanced Digital Technologies and Services" at the University of Piraeus.
