Speech by Vassilis Karamitsanis, President of Animasyros and ASIFA HELLAS

On Monday, May 7, 2018 from 18:00 – 21:00 in room 102, of the Central Building of the University of Piraeus (Karaoli & Dimitriou 80, Piraeus), we invite you to the lecture by Mr. Vassilis Karamitsanis, President of Animasyros and ASIFA HELLAS themed “Animasyros International Animation Festival & Market. A cultural action of regional development", which will take place in the context of the "Digital Culture" direction, of the "Advanced Information Systems" Program, of the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus.

Vassilis Karamitsanis is a graduate of the College of Athens & the Law Department of the A.P. Thessaloniki, did postgraduate studies in the Economic Analysis of Law at the Universities of Rotterdam, Hamburg and Aix-Marseille III, since 2002 he has been a lawyer in Athens. He has worked as a partner of the Greek Films Department of the Thessaloniki Festival and the ECOFILMS Festival. Together with Maria Anestopoulou, in the period 2003 - 2009 he organized the International Digital Film Festival PLATFORMA VIDEO, in Athens and in 2008 he founded the Animasyros International Festival + Animation Market, in Syros. He is the executive producer of the TV show ANIMERT for the cartoons shown on ERT1. In 2015, the General Assembly of ASIFA GREECE - Hellenic Association of Animation A.M.K.E. honored him with the status of President, which he holds to this day.
