On Wednesday, March 31, 2021, from 18:30 - 21:00, the guest of the MSc "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT and Advanced Digital Technologies", of the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus, is Dr. Avgi Vassi, Director of the Office of the General Secretariat of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment of the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

The speech of Dr. A. Vassi will be held for PMS students via the internet, and in the context of the course "Management and Administration of Cultural Units and Organizations" of the "Digital Culture" direction.

Avgi Vassi has participated in numerous research projects and studies related to urban mobility as she has participated in over 20 research projects funded by the European Union and national funding organizations and in over 20 studies funded by Local Government. He has significant experience and involvement in all areas of combined urban planning and traffic studies. He has experience in the procedures of Public Administration, Local Government and the private sector, with specialization in study issues - provision of consultancy services.

He also has experience in coordinating European programs (Cyclecities, CycloVET, Cyberparks). Its participation in European programs has contributed to the transfer of European know-how and new policies in the field of urban mobility and especially sustainable mobility with an emphasis on cycling in Greece. It also deals with modern technology that concerns and influences design in the transport sector.

He has authored chapters in international books on traffic planning and technology tools. He has written and presented articles at local and international scientific conferences concerning issues of sustainable urban mobility and combined urban and traffic planning
