Lecture by the hιστορισταί Group, on "Public History and Digital Tools"

On Monday, June 11, 2018 from 18:00 - 21:00, in Hall B1, Grigoriou Lambraki 122, we invite you to the lecture of the hιστορισταί Group, on "Public History and Digital Tools", which will take place in the context of "Digital Culture" direction, of the "Advanced Informatics Systems" Program, of the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus.

The lecture will present the activity of the Historians Group, which aims to disseminate historical information and communicate it to the general public, as well as its productive use in the fields of economy, culture and education, through the use of digital media.

hιστορισταί Group:

Maria Sambatakaki studied History at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens and the University of Helsinki, as well as Literature at the University of Cambridge. She was a scholarship holder of the Fund for American Studies and the International Institute for Political and Economic Studies. Her path in the field of historical research begins at the Historical and Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hellenic Foundation for Hellenic and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). He worked in the archival collections of the central service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens, abroad (Britain, Egypt) and at home (Archives of the Italian Administration of the Dodecanese, GAS, Rhodes). As an independent researcher, she carried out the partial recording of the archival material of the Greek parish in Finland. Since 2004, she has been systematically dealing with "Public History" as a columnist and scientific collaborator in newspapers (Ethnos, Eleftherotypia), magazines (History, Historical Issues). He has published a series of monographs on topics of modern Greek history (Periskopio publications 2006-2010) and two books - testimonials (Topos publications 2011-2014). In 2014 he created the original Public History Production Group "historistai". He collaborates and has taught at the University of Masaryk (Czech Republic).

Katerina Koffina is a cultural expert. He studied "European Culture" with a postgraduate specialization in the administration of cultural units at the Hellenic Open University and Applied Visual Arts at the Vakalos and Artes schools (formerly Doxiadis). He has worked for many years in the architectural field. He has collaborated with institutions and associations in the production of artistic and historical programs, as well as with the magazines "History - Papyrus", "Science Illustrated", "Historical Themes", "The Periodical". He is a founding member of the public history hιστορισταί group .
