On Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 18:15, the guest of MSc Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT & Advanced Technologies, of the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus, was Efthimios Bakoyannis, Secretary General of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment [of the Ministry of Environment and Energy .The speech of Mr. Efthymios Bakoyannis will be held for the students of MSc in the context of the course "Urban Planning for digital cities".

Brief Biography
Efthimios Bakoyannis Dr. Urban Planner - Transportation Engineer, he is an assistant professor at E.M.P. - SATM, Department of Geography and Regional Planning. Today he is the General Secretary of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment of the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
His academic subject is "Urban Planning with an emphasis on Sustainable Mobility policies" while he has 15 years of experience in the coordination and implementation of urban and traffic studies, the supervision of construction projects and their financing procedures from the European Union and other financial organizations.
He has participated in numerous studies and research programs funded by the EU. or National Resources (Ministry – Municipalities) to more than 50 Agencies. He is an experienced researcher who has contributed to science since 2001 by writing dozens of articles and chapters in books in Greece and abroad, while he has participated in more than 100 conferences as a speaker on related topics and has written more than 50 scientific papers. Utilizing his international experience, he has contributed from various positions to the promotion of Urban Planning and Sustainable Mobility in Greece.
He has been a Member of the Board of the Athens Urban Transport Organization and President of the Organization's Technical Council, President of the Metropolitan Agency for Redevelopment and Management of Protected Areas of Attica, Director of the Minister of Productive Reconstruction and member of Local Government bodies.
