On Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 18:30 - 21:00 in Room 102 of the Central Building of the University of Piraeus, (Karaoli & Dimitriou 80, Piraeus), we invite you to the speech of Dr. Evangelos Angelopoulos, Managing Director of the company Fuelics, in the framework of the PMS "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT and Advanced Digital Technologies", of the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus.

Speech Topic: "Business in the age of Smart Cities and the Internet of Things".

Evangelos Angelopoulos is an industrial researcher at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of EKEF Demokritos, a fellow of the Niarchos Foundation and CEO of the company Fuelics, a spin-off of Demokritos. He received his PhD from the Electrical Engineers and Mech. Computer of NTUA and specializes in innovation management. He started his business career in 2009 and in 2014 delivered the first IoT smart waste collection projects to 10 municipalities in the country optimizing fuel consumption. In 2016, through the scholarship of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, he does research on the quantitative and qualitative characterization of diesel fuel. Fuelics is perhaps the only company in our country that produces IoT sensors for smart cities using the NBiOT protocol. Both through Democritos and his company, he warmly supports the Greek technological ecosystem.
