On Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 18:00 to 21:00, Mr. Vasilis Karamitsanis, President of Animasyros and ASIFA Hellas, is invited to speak at the MSc program "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT, and Advanced Digital Technologies" of the Department of Informatics at the University of Piraeus.
The speech by Vasilis Karamitsanis will take place for the students of the MSc program as part of the course "Management and Administration of Cultural Units and Organizations" in the "Digital Culture" specialization.

Brief Biography:
Vasilis Karamitsanis was born in Athens in 1976. He graduated from the Athens College and the Faculty of Law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He pursued postgraduate studies at the Universities of Rotterdam (NL), Hamburg (D), and Aix-Marseille III (F).
Since 2002, he has been a lawyer in Athens, handling civil and commercial law cases, with a focus on contracts, real estate, non-profit organizations, and intellectual property rights for the audiovisual sector.
Since 2008, he has been the President of the ANIMASYROS International Animation Festival, and since 2015, he has been the elected President of ASIFA Hellas - the Greek Association of Animated Film. Since 2022, he has been the President of the International Center of Film for Children and Young People (CIFEJ).
In 2018, he was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Republic. During the period of 2018-2019, he served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Greek National Opera.
