On Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 18:00 - 21:00, in the Conference Hall of the Central Building of the University of Piraeus (Karaoli & Dimitriou 80, Piraeus), we invite you to the lecture of Dr. Jesus Serrano-Guerrero, Associate Professor in the School of Computer Engineering, University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, on "Sentiment Analysis: Concepts and trends", in the framework of the MSc "Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT and Advanced Digital Technologies ", of the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus.

 

Talk: Sentiment Analysis: Concepts and trends
The growth of social networks is making available a vast amount of opinions whose information must be exploited by firms for commercial purposes, reputation and other goals. This aim of this talk is to present the main elements characterizing Sentiment Analysis and its current trends.

 

Short Biography:
Dr. Jesus Serrano-Guerrero is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Engineering from the University of Castilla-La Mancha in Ciudad Real, Spain. His research is focused on applications of Artificial Intelligence to different fields like Information Retrieval Systems, Recommender Systems or Sentiment Analysis. He is author of several journal papers and nearly 50 conference papers, two books and several book chapters. He has also organized some workshops for several international conferences such as ISDA (International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications) or IPMU (International Conference on Information Processing and Management of Uncertainty in Knowledge-Based Systems), and usual referee for the most important international journals (Knowledge-Based Systems, Information Sciences, Information Fusion, etc.).
