Presentation topic: "Archaeo-informatics": Geographical Information Systems in Archaeological Science.

The application of Geographic Information Systems is not new to Archaeology. However, the rapid development of Informatics and Computer science, the development of Geobase technology and the incorporation into them of sophisticated spatial analysis and statistical algorithms have made them not only important analytical, but also methodological tools, which not only depict, but they reveal underlying processes through the language of algorithms, geometry and cartography. Seat density analysis, visibility analysis, and least-cost path analysis reveal these underlying processes or structures sometimes at the level of long-term structures, sometimes medium-term cycles, or even micro-term events.
